Last Call for Drama Registration
All 2-5 graders must pick up their Drama packets in the office and return completed forms and online registration by 3pm by THIS Friday!

Pre-Show families must also register and return their forms by This Friday at 3pm. (This is a correction from one of the purple packet)

Adults, please get your forms and registrations done by Friday Sept 27 at 3pm and plan on coming to the audition at 7pm if you can.

Very Important - Mark your calendar – conference week!!!

Every day from today until next Wednesday, September 25th will be early release days.  Please be sure to pick your students up at 1:42PM.  We will be asking everyone to vacate the campus as soon as possible so that we can have a quiet campus for conferencing.  Thank you for your support of our conference week

Technology Committee Meeting TONIGHT at 7:00pm

Our first Technology Committee Meeting of the 2019-2020 school year will be tonight, Wednesday 9/18/2019, at 7pm in Room 15. This is time for you to complete monthly computer updates, and get information about technology on campus.  All Classroom Technology Committee reps should attend.  Questions? Yearbook Input!

The WO School Directories are Here!!
Keep your eyes peeled for the lime green directories that will be in this Wednesday’s envelope.
And to keep you on your toes, you can enter to win a prize by submitting the answers to the WO Directory Scavenger Hunt that can be found on the link below. All entries must be submitted by Friday October 4 at 3pm. “You gotta be in it to win it!” One entry per student.

Auction Corner: This week’s highlight is Drop Off Depot!!

Don’t forget to bring in your donations. FYI if you plan to donate gift cards buy them from the script table. Also needed are baskets, if you have any at home taking up space please bring them to Drop Off Week.

Our next awesome community dining fundraiser is at CPK on 3535 Monroe in Santa Clara.  Watch the Wednesday envelope or WO FB Group for the required flyer. Show it on your phone and our school receives 20%. Valid for dine in, take out and catering ALL DAY!

Costume Exchange on Wednesday, October 9th in the cafeteria 1:45pm - 2:45pm.
Free event! Bring gently used costumes & accessories, take home some new to you pieces - save money & be green!
Costumes can be dropped off the day of only, look for marked bins on the stage. 

WO at San Jose Earthquakes! Sunday, Sept. 29, 4:15 pm - ALMOST SOLD OUT!

Let's support our home town San Jose Earthquakes on their playoff run and support our school!  Purchase a ticket to their last home game and a portion of the proceeds go to WO. All Washington Open kids will have the opportunity to participate in an on-field youth parade around Avaya Stadium. Tickets are $25/person.  Purchase online here.

Hey Sports Fans!

Join us this Friday, September 13th at Buckshaw Field for the Santa Clara University Women’s Soccer game vs Arizona.  The game starts at 7:30 and is free for kids 8th grade and under. 

Then mark your calendars for the SCU vs SJS Women’s basketball game on Tuesday, November 12th at 3:30PM.  All Washington Open Fans (kids and adults) will be given free tickets!  Let’s go cheer on the Broncos!

District News

Nutrition Services is having their first food showcase on Oct 4th, 4:00-6:00 pm at the Farm. We are inviting all parents, staff, students and vendors. 

Everyone will have a chance to

  • Meet our farmer Dave and go on a farm tour
  • Sample current and future menu items that students are eating
  • Meet our vendors and learn about their products
  • Demo of our combi ovens we use at school sites
  • Sample some scratch cooked menu items made by our school chefs
  • Enter our pumpkin raffle
  • Take a picture at the pumpkin patch
  • Fun games for kids
