Thursday, January 25, 2018, from 7:00 – 8:30

Tuesday, February 5, 2018, from 7:00 – 8:30

What will be covered?

The information night is an important chance for you to learn about the school's philosophy, curriculum, parent participation, and programs, and to better understand if it is a good fit for your family. You will hear from our principal, teachers, alumni, and parents, and have the opportunity to ask questions. In order to maximize your time in the classrooms, there is limited time for discussion during school tours. The parent information night will provide you with a much fuller picture of the school and also allow you more time to hear from teachers, who may not be able to talk with you during tours.

Is this required?

No, but it is strongly recommended to fully understand the philosophy of the school.

Observation in the Classroom is essential for making an informed educational decision for your child. You will be able to observe the school’s philosophy in action and understand the model for parent participation. Tours are for adults only. Children, including infants, will not be permitted on tours. Please plan to attend the entire tour. You will visit classrooms in all grade levels. Please, no photography, videos, or use of cell phones during the tours..

What are the dates and times?

Tours will begin January 16, 2018 and end on February 7, 2018.

Tours leave daily at 9:00 a.m.and last until 10:30 a.m. Please arrive at the office and sign in a few minutes prior to the tour. Please be on time and allow plenty of time to park and arrive at the office.  No appointment needed but tours do start promptly at 9:00AM.

Please park in the large lot between Washington Open Elementary and Buchser Middle School.  If you see solar panels, you are in the right place.  Do NOT park in the 2 smaller lots along Washington Street, as they are staff only.

Is this mandatory?

No, but we ask you do not open enroll without attending a meeting. We wish for you to fully understand what our school offers and what will be asked of you.

How can I maximize my observations of a specific grade level?

Although observing multiple grade levels is beneficial in understanding the entirety of Open’s program, if there is a specific grade level you wish to visit, please call the office to confirm that grade level’s schedule for a particular morning.  Students participate in a variety of enrichment programs, such as art and music, on different mornings.  Some grades may also be away on field trips.

Can I bring children?
Adults only.  Please provide childcare for your children, including infants.

Can I take pictures?

Please no pictures or videos in order to protect the privacy of the students.
